Individual Schema Therapy Training Program

Schema Therapy Training Iasi Program is an internationally certified training program by the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST): #RO003 / Training Program Directors: Diana Teodorescu & Petrisor Tepurlui May 8, 2024

Schema Therapy is an integrative therapeutic modality, developed by Jeffrey Young for working with those clients who had difficulty obtaining results in classical cognitive-behavioral therapy.  Precisely for this reason, Schema Therapy is aimed at people who already have a certificate of free practice in psychotherapy and who already work with clients, being interested in a super-specialization that will help them work with personality disorders and clients with symptomatology resistant to other therapeutic modalities. The flexibility of this therapeutic modality and the varied roots it has in other forms of therapy such as gestalt therapy, object relations therapy and attachment theory, make it a trans-diagnostic therapeutic modality, efficient and easy to adapt according to the needs of each client.

The Therapy Schema proves useful both for the clinical understanding of clients’ difficulties and for finding individually tailored intervention modalities, while respecting the specific structure of cognitive-behavioral therapies and the importance of the therapeutic relationship specific to relational and experiential therapies.

The ISST accredited program is 6 days and also benefits from COPSI accreditation in Romania.

Schema Therapy for Children and Adolescents Training Program

Romanian Training Program in Schema Therapy for Children and Adolescents is an ISST certified training program: #RO002 / Training Program Director: Diana Teodorescu, October 03, 2022

Who works with children and parents knows that working with a such a difficult dinamic of factors requires a very complex aproach. We face with  problems of children of different ages, their parents with their issues, and often  teachers and school are involvet too.

The adaptation of this model for the work with children and adolescents, offers a great therapeutic intervention, a very structured integrative approach based on the increasing research evidence for its effectiveness. We already have a framework of approaches, strategies and techniques, all based on a specific case conceptualisation, which is the heart of schema therapy intervention.

ST-CA focuses on everything is important in terms of: attachment- the basic emotional needs, dysfunctional patterns of emotions and cognitions-early maladaptive schemas, coping strategies which develops in states patterns-Modes, family dynamics-schema coaching for parents.

The Romanian Certification Training Program in Schema Therapy for Children and Adolescents offers an 48 hours  training focused on: the schema therapeutic conceptual model (schemas, modes, coping strategies), the underlying theory (central importance core needs in the context of developmental tasks), possible diagnostic means (eg, projective methods) and requirements in the therapeutic attitude (eg, concept of “limited reparenting” and “empathic confrontation”) are outlined, put on the ground of temperament and personality factors in childhood and adolescence. However, in the centre of the workshop series are training and practice units, encompassing schema therapeutic strategies that have proven successful in childhood and adolescence.

Another focus is laid on the teaching of advanced and deepened work with parents in terms of “Schema Coaching” or “Systemic Schema Therapy“ that include schema or mode specific transactional processes between child and parent and shed a light on mutual reinforcement’s processes of child’s und parent’s maladaptive schemas.

The Romanian Certification Training Program in ST-CA meets all the ISST requirement, but also brings some extra perspectives and approaches: how to work with groups of children using ST-CA model, how to integrate the ACT model- the Contextual ST approach, etc.

Group Schema Therapy Training Program

Romanian Group Schema Therapy Program is an ISST (International Society of Schema Therapy) certified training program , #RO005 / Training Program Directors: Maria Cristina Sterie & Diana Teodorescu April 1, 2025

Schema Therapy Group Training is a comprehensive professional and personal development program designed for therapists, counselors, and professionals who wish to deepen their application of the principles of schema therapy in a group setting.

The program explores how group dynamics amplify emotional processes, providing participants with the opportunity to experience firsthand how relationships can become spaces for healing and reconnection. Through a combination of solid theory, experiential exercises, mode work, and applied supervision, the training supports the development of the skills needed to guide group members through the process of awareness, reparenting, and emotional growth.

The central theme of the training is the use of the group relationship as a corrective experience: a living context in which the Vulnerable Child, the Critical Parent, and the Healthy Adult can be seen, contained, and transformed. Participants discover how the presence and safety of the therapist, along with the energy of the group, can activate processes of profound change.

This training builds a bridge between science and humanity, providing professionals with clear tools but also emotional depth — to facilitate authentic healing, real relationships, and a therapeutic practice anchored in compassion.
